JIJA by Vicky Lau at Kimpton Hotel reinterprets the spirit of a modern teahouse through the lens of a vibrant bistro, grounding the dining experience in the cultural textures of Southwest China. Dark timber wraps the room in warmth and depth, offset by muted silver detailing at the expansive windows and within bespoke lighting. Terracotta tones lift the ceiling and select wall surfaces, while woven-inspired textiles and patterned panels reference Yunnan’s Miao craftsmanship with tactile, graphic layers. Fluted glass, marble tabletops, and a mix of banquettes and freestanding settings create variety across lively communal areas and more intimate corners, all held together by a softly calibrated, layered lighting scheme and framed by sea and city views.
